FAQ

Questions, answered.

Can I wash a baseball cap in a washing machine?

Some modern caps can be machine washed, while others require hand cleaning. Always check the manufacturer’s care label first. When machine washing is appropriate, WASHSKIT helps support the crown and brim throughout the process.

Will it stop my cap from losing its shape?

The rigid cage is designed to support the cap's structure during washing and air-drying, reducing uncontrolled crushing and deformation.

Does it work with fitted caps?

It is designed to accommodate many common baseball and fitted-cap constructions. Always check sizing and care instructions before use.

Can I use it for trucker hats?

Many structured trucker caps can be compatible, provided their materials are washable and the cap fits correctly inside the protector.

Can I use it in the dishwasher?

We recommend following the cap manufacturer's care instructions rather than assuming dishwasher washing is safe. Heat and dishwasher detergents can damage some fabrics, adhesives, colors and brim materials.

Should I put my cap in the dryer?

We recommend air-drying unless the cap manufacturer explicitly states otherwise. Excessive heat can shrink fabric or damage structural materials.

How do I remove sweat stains?

Pre-treat stubborn sweat and salt deposits with a fabric-safe cleaner appropriate for your cap's material before washing. Read our complete sweat-stain guide for step-by-step instructions.

Can it remove odor?

The protector itself doesn't remove odor; it allows compatible caps to be properly washed while remaining structurally supported. Appropriate detergent and cleaning methods do the cleaning.

Is it reusable?

Yes. Wash, rinse and dry the protector after use and store it for your next cap-cleaning session.

What if my cap is vintage?

Be careful. Older caps may contain cardboard brims, fragile stitching, unstable dyes or materials unsuitable for immersion. Vintage and collectible caps should generally be assessed individually before washing.
